Our Culture
The Cartwright Companies is based upon three generations of family leadership, and the family atmosphere is evident throughout the company. We strive to create a rewarding work environment where engaged employees deliver services that surpass the expectations of our customers.
Our relaxed atmosphere and numerous employee appreciation events build teamwork, communication, and respect. We consistently improve processes and work flows to give our employees the tools and knowledge to serve our customers' needs. Our hope is to become one of Kansas City's best places to work.
A Relaxed Work Environment
To foster a relaxed work environment, we have a comfortable break room with couches and a 42" flat-screen TV. A Wii game console also provides a fun release during a hard day of work. During our annual health fair, we provide free chair massages!
Employee Recognition
We empower our employees to reward each other for a job well done. Each person has a stack of cards in which they nominate a coworker when they witness or become aware of someone who has gone above and beyond the call of duty. Each month, one card is drawn at random and that person will receive the Star of the Month award. This award brings great privilege, including a free lunch, recognition on our Wall of Fame, and the use of a Reserved parking spot at the front of our building.
Employees are also recognized company-wide when positive, glowing feedback is received from any of our customers... which occurs quite often!
In addition, employees are rewarded on major anniversary dates with special recognition and awards at our annual holiday party.

Braggin' Rights
"Braggin' Rights" is a sports trivia show that features different organizations in the Kansas City Metro area attempting to answer as many questions as they can correctly against members of the Metro Sports staff head-to-head. The team with the most correct answers at the end of the show wins, Braggin' Rights.
The program consists of 10 trivia questions covering all aspects of sports, with three from Major League Baseball, three from the National Football League, three Kansas City related questions and one wild card question. If the team is stuck on a questions, they can use one 'Hey Joe' life line, where contestants ask Metro Sports Producer Joe Novacek to help them out with an answer.
